A video has surfaced showing a senior police inspector along with constable thrashing a youths and verbally abusing his female friend. The incident reportedly took place in Ulhasnagar on Saturday. The video shows the cop assaulting the youth in public and hurling abuses at his female friend.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday. Onlookers said the couple was sitting in an auto-rickshaw when the policemen asked them to step out. The video shows a cop thrashing and kicking the boy while also hurling expletives at the young girl.
Waghmare found a young couple seated in an empty auto-rickshaw parked in the locality. After asking the youth a couple of questions, Waghmare began beating up the youth. The inspector is also seen holding a beer bottle while beating up the youth. ”We found this couple in the auto, indulging in obscene acts. I did not beat the youth. The video circulated on social media is doctored,”said Waghmare.
The whole incident split people into two groups-those who supported the police’s action and those who condemned the brutality of cops and said the police should have only warned the youngsters.
