In a shocking case of mob brutality, a 21-year-old Tanzanian girl was allegedly stripped, assaulted and paraded naked by a mob in Bengaluru, while local police stood as mute bystanders. In this we will see when the incident had happend?,How the girl assasluated?,Action took against the mob.
The incident happened late on Sunday, after a car driven by a Sudanese national ran over and killed a 35-year-old woman in Hesaraghatta. Travelling in another car, this Tanzanian girl, a second year BBA student of Acharya College arrived at the spot with four other friends almost half an hour after the incident.
Though the girl had absolutely nothing to do with that accident, she was forcefully dragged out of her car and assaulted. She was repeatedly beaten and then stripped of all her clothes and made to parade around naked. When a concerned bystander tried to cover her with a T-shirt, he too was beaten. When she attempted to board a bus and escape, the passengers of the bus threw her back into the arms of the mob.
Her friends were also beaten up and the car they were travelling was sent on fire by the mob. When the victim later went to the police station to lodge a complaint, the cops reportedly refused to register the case and asked her to bring the driver who ran over the 35-year-old woman.
“She’s Tanzanian, the man who caused the accident comes from Sudan, they didn’t even know each other,” said Bosco Kaweesi, Legal Adviser of All African Students Union in Bengaluru. “When the girl did not even know about the accident or the spot where it happened, how can she bring in the driver of the car,” added Bosco.
All the five who suffered injuries were admitted in a hospital couldn’t even afford to pay their bills as their ATM cards and other valuable documents were in the car set ablaze. Later, Bengaluru Police filed FIR against 4 suspects and arrested them. The report also claims that the local mob was hunting for houses where Africans stayed and harassed them.
