Varma is not only famous by his movies but also famous by his Controversial Comments on Stars what not on all. Ram Gopal Varma made each and Evry Type of Movies in his movie career like Lovestory, Horror, Thriller, Crime, Comedy etc. Varma made his own Brand among the Directors of Bollywood and he directs his movies in a Special way either his movies will be a hit or Flop Varma Brand never Goes Down. Every Actor wants to act at least once in a Movie under Varma Direction.


The trailers of Killing Veerappan have given a feel that maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is back to his best. The film which deals with the real life story of the dreaded sandalwood smuggler has hit the screens today. Let’s now see whether RGV is back in the reckoning or not.




Plot:

As said the film is based on the life of a dreaded mafia called Veerappan and the massive manhunt for this man in the wild forest of south India called Sathyamangalam Forest, which spreads across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. This dreaded forest brigand was able to kill more than 180 people, which including the personnel from paramilitary forces, civilians and others from the security forces. In order to nab this dreaded criminal the government invested one billion INR based search operation called Operation Cocoon, which is among the costliest ever operation in India to nab a man. The film revolves around the said operation and killing this dreaded poacher and criminal in the forests of south India.

Script Analysis

Since the film is based on the real story and true events covering the infamous Operation Cocoon for killing Indian bandit Veerappan, hence the task of adding any spice is huge for the filmmaker. The director has skilfully able to portray the right picture of the Operation Cocoon using his grey cells portraying the best picture over the silver screen. The manhunt operation was showed vividly working on every fine details of the operation making the film very much realistic and authentic. Don’t forget to check the special effects the Ram Gopal Varma has tried to put in the film to add further the entertainment value of the film imbibing the politics that has run behind saving and favouring this man for different vested interest. In nutshell, the filmmaker has managed to give a realistic kind of image, which ends up making the film captivating.

Star Performances

Any movie with good rating and rich content is always supported by committed and out of box performances by the lead stars and Killing Veerappan is one of them. The filmmaker was smart enough to get the best star cast for the film especially the two lead characters like Dr. Shivaraj Kumar who played the top cop for the film, while Sandeep Bhardwaj despite being debuting with this movie has done justice with his incredible performance. Others in the film too managed to give a decent performance, which made all the difference in boosting up the entertainment value of the film.

Direction, Music, Screenplay, Editing and other technical elements

There is no denying to the fact that RGV is a competent filmmaker, who takes all the time to embark with something interesting and innovative script, which usually is inspired by real time incidences. The director has managed to extract some of the best performances out from the top actors working in the film, which has together added a glory in it. Talking about the elements like Music, screenplay, editing and other technical elements, everything seemed okay good in the film, which has simply helped the film to embark with rich entertainment value.

The audience say the movie has engrossing script and good characterisation. Lead actors like Shivaraj Kumar, Sandeep Bharadwaj, Yagna Shetty and Parul Yadav have delivered fantastic performance. The movie has rich production elements and Ravi Shankar's music and Rammy's cinematography are the big attractions in the technical front.

On the whole, Killing Veerappan is surely RGV’s most decent films in the recent past. It is a realistic tale of how India’s most wanted criminal was gunned down with some superb visuals, interesting narration and top notch performances. On the flip side, non detailing on Veerappan and his less screen time may not go well with certain audience. All said and done, this film is a decent watch for its realistic nature and some gripping assassination episodes.
