Logical Indian had shared pictures of a girl with facial deformity who needed help on October 30 . The post was widely shared by the community members of them. It reached to millions and many came forward to help her.
During the process they came across the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Craniofacial Surgery, which offers free of cost surgery for the facial deformity cases.
We must appreciate their effort. According to newspapers and other online portals it is quite obvious that the family of this girl is not supportive towards her treatment and are not initiating contact with any Dr or medical institute at all. There is a group on Facebook by the name of Soul Angels Group, their volunteers have met the family and the group is also arranging Dr Mustafa Khader from Chetty hospital in Mangalore to assist her with the surgery on minimal cost.
Does TLI have a plan to implement? How will the girl be taken to Mangalore? Where will she stay? Who will accompany her as requested by Dr in video? The effort is great and video post is relevant but I feel a lot of ground work needs to be done rather than just putting the video here. Even if she's operated upon in various stages.. Will she still be begging on streets? She needs a change in everyday life too. We will support Logical Indian in this cause and support the Soul Angels Group who initially located this girl and are in direct discussion and arrangements with family and Dr Khader. I'm writing on behalf of Soul Angels Group to advise that we have started the full fledged ground work in regard to Khaliza's treatment options. We are in constant touch with two renowned doctors- Dr Shetty and Dr Mustafa Khader both in Mangalore. Both the doctors have offered help at their end free of cost. Even though the surgery will not need any funds, there will be other expenses involved like medical aid, travel expenses, accommodation expenses during the course of treatment as the treatment itself is a long term process. Khaliza amd her family will require funds post surgery as well and the funds raised will also be used towards making her financially secure so that she doesn't have to go begging on streets again and she doesn't become a photo shoot object.
